upgrade controller and foot pedal

Just the item I needed to fix an old model auto pilot foot pedal that needed some TLC, great replacement and easy install. Haven't been able to try it yet but im sure it will work as expected.

Great upgrade!

I honestly had no idea these kits were available when my controller relay failed and found out I could choose from several options. I chose the advanced option (I-Pilot link) I was thrilled with my first time out using the iPhone app to drive and using spot lock to hold the boat to fish or to change bait. I’m yet to use with the network but I don’t expect any issues with that other than operator learning the ropes. Follow the software update procedures I powered the motor where my phone had good WiFi since the update is pushed via Bluetooth to the motor. I also updated my other Minn Kota at the same time so I had a little issue initially pairing with the second motor but second attempt was successful. I renamed the two devices on the phone connections so I could keep track of which motor. Then I updated the second motor which was faster since my update download was already on the phone. At this point pretty happy though I may consider purchasing the remote option. The phone screen locks and can be hard to read etc but likely offers more functionality than the basic remote. Even though I never talked to a support rep the online support from Lakeside Marine was really good. I will definitely continue doing business with them for parts. The shipping speed was acceptable on the standard freight when they have the item in stock. They had what I needed promptly. I was a little intimidated with the wiring but with the simple diagram and there’s instructions I was able to do the updates without calling support. For your own sanity, even though in some cases you won’t be using wires that previously you were, take pictures before you unplug them so you know which ones went to the steering and which ones go to the battery check meter.
